EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Dr. Roma Brijesh Patel passed her MBBS from Baroda Medical college in 2007. She completed her DIPLOMA IN CLINICAL PATHOLOGY from BARODA MADICAL COLLEGE in 2010.

She is the proud alumnus of the esteemed JASLOK HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTER MUMBAI, where she did her DNB from 2010-2012.

She was greatly fortunate in continuing a Sr. Registrarship at JASLOK HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTER MUMBAI under the expert guidance of DR. ARUN CHITALE and DR. SHAILA KHUBCHANDANI.

JASLOK HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTRE MUMBAI is one of the leading referral centres for medical renal biopsies and Dr Roma Patel had an intensive training for the same, reporting nearly 10-12 medical renal biopsies per day covering the entire spectrum of medical renal diseases.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Dr. Roma Patel has worked as a Consultant Histopathologist for 3 years at Unipath Specialty Laboratory and for 4 Years at Sterling Accuris National reference Laboratory at Ahmedabad.

She has reported over 90,000 histopath and cytopath cases in her career span of nearly 7 Years.

Dr. ROMA PATEL is one of the best histopathologists of Gujarat for reporting of lung biopsies, medical renal biopsies and gastrointestinal tract biopsies.

FURTHER ACHIEVEMENTS

She got a unique opportunity to do observer ship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic, Arizona, USA ( one of the world’s best referral centres for pulmonary pathology) under the auspices of four of the world’s best pulmonary pathologists namely : Dr.Henry Tazelaar, Dr.Maxwell Smith, Dr.Brandon T.Larsen and Dr.Yasmin Butt.

During her stay, Dr Roma Patel had an intensive exposure to pulmonary pathology and was fully immersed and interactive in the day to day evaluation of numerous ( > 15) consultation cases per day.

In addition, Dr Roma Patel also evaluated slides from the very extensive teaching collection available to her at the Mayo Clinic ( including the Charles B Carrington Memorial of Pulmonary Pathology teaching collection which is an archive of close to 20000 cases of Pulmonary Pathology).

She was fortunate to present a case “ Things are not always what they seem “ on pleural IHC which was very well received by the eminent team of Pulmonary Pathologists.

This stint at Mayo Clinic has been an enriching experience for Dr Roma Patel and has greatly contributed to her understanding and reporting of Pulmonary Pathology in her day to day practice.
